Why Lacrosse Makes a Great Football Athlete
At GT Lacrosse,
we believe that every football players would benefit tremendously from playing lacrosse during their off-season. The crossover skills between the two sports are significant:
| Position | Skills Gained | |
| Wide Receivers | footwork, hand-eye | |
| Running Backs | juking, ball carrying | |
| Quarterbacks | vision, accuracy | |
| Offensive Linemen | pass-block footwork | |
| Defensive Linemen | toughness, discipline | |
| Defensive Backs | containment, footwork | |
| Safeties | pursuit angle |
Lacrosse
is a full-contact sport, and athletes with a football background typically adapt seamlessly to the intensity of the game. Many legendary athletes have excelled in both sports, including:
| Name | Played Football @ | |
| Jim Brown | Cleveland Browns | |
| Travis Kelce | Kansas City Chiefs | |
| Chris Hogan | New England Patriots | |
| Jordan Faison | Notre Dame | |
| Jared Bernhardt | Atlanta Falcons | |
| Ricky Miezan | Stanford University | |
| Dante Trader Jr. | Miami Dolphins | |
| Dylan Fasion | Notre Dame | |
| Jason Kelce | Philadelphia Eagles |
Don't

THE PERCEIVED COST
often concerns parents when they first hear about trying lacrosse due to the amount of equipment, padding, and sticks. However this is not the case - our registration price is actually cheaper than just one season of youth soccer.
Additionally we are a fully registered 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation. For families in need of assistance we offer charitable donations of equipment, discounted equipment prices, discounted registration fees, discounted uniform fees, and FREE private training from current or former NCAA lacrosse players. This is done through our corporate sponsors and generous donations from local community members.
READY TO SIGN UP?
we are accepting registrations for the spring season until late January. You can register your son or daughter today by visiting www.gtlax.org/register
Still not Convinced??
we are hosting FREE events open to the public, Saturday's in January from 6:00 - 8:00 PM! No need to pre-register for the event, no equipment or pads needed. Sticks will be provided for any new player. This is a perfect time to give the sport a quick try with no pressure. Worst thing that can happen? Your child might find a new sport that will make them a better overall Football player.
PRO TIP:
we believe the ultimate combination for creating well-rounded, gritty athletes is the trio of football, wrestling / basketball, and lacrosse. For linemen specifically, wrestling is a game-changer for understanding balance and weight manipulation.
